About the Class

Our programs include performances and classes in Samba, Afro-Brazilian rhythms and folkloric dances of Brazil. We focus much of our efforts on the folkloric Brazilian art of Capoeira. Capoeira combines music, philosophy, folkloric arts and self-defense to form an art that is played between two people. Capoeira's teachings impart important life skills that assists children and adults in their personal growth. Including self discipline, self confidence, conflict resolution as well as physical fitness and rhythm! Our programs are aimed at providing arts and physical fitness in underserved neighborhoods around the world.

The classes and programs are fun and open to anyone - woman, men, children and families! Come and experience a little of Brazil without leaving the country!

Contra Mestre Guia

Contra Mestre Guia started Capoeira when he was 14 years old and continues till this day. Under Mestre Caboquinho's training he was graduated in 2008 treinel (instructor) in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil by Mestre Caboquinho. After becoming Treinel he started teaching Capoeira in Puerto Rico, gave workshops at elementary schools and show diferent activities. Working hard and training in 2010 Mestre caboquinho took Treinel Guia to Salvado, Bahia and Brazil again for mor training in movements, knowledge and music. In August 20, 2011 he was graduated Contra Mestre by Mestre Caboquinho. Contra Mestre Guia's goal much like mestre caboquinho is to pass on the culture of Brazil through understanding, respect and peace.
