My name is Jahayra and I am the instructor, choreographer and artistic director of this company. My love for belly dancing started 7 1/2 years ago through ancient dreams, where I seen myself dancing in the desert under the stars in Egypt. When I decided to try this dance I became hooked instantly. Ever since then I have been unable to stop, moving forward creating my own troupe called The Desert Stars. The Desert Stars have been dancing for 5 years now. They are hard workers and dedicate themselves to the art form of belly dance. I am trained in the egyptian cabaret, american cabaret and the tukish styles of the dance but I also like to add indain and modern dancing to my performances. I have been teaching this exquisite dance for 6 years and encouraged by family and friends I decided to open up my very own belly dance studio in Peabody,Ma. I believe every woman in the world should try this dance at least once in their life time - it's an amazing dance!
